Hobby into Business

I've always loved candles. It's sort of a simple thing, but there's just something about a candle (and a warmer or burner with tarts/melts) that just makes me happy. I love being able to choose different scents for each season or to even set the mood for a home or office.
Let me just give you a brief overview of myself so you can understand how I hope my love for candles (hobby) is going to eventually turn into a fulfilling, lucrative business. I'm a mother of three. Twins who are 19 (a boy and a girl) and an almost 12 yr old daughter. I'm married, 37 years old and we live in New Hampshire. I've always worked at least part-time waitressing or cleaning houses...things that are flexible. The most important thing for me is to always be there for my children and all of their sports and activities and school events. I have sacrificed well paying jobs in order to be around for them but that is the way I want it! If you do the math, you will realize that I had my twins at a very young age so for the past 19 years I haven't had much time for "me" or to even decide what to do when I grow up :) Now it the time!
So, trying to decide which path to take I have tried several different ideas, always coming back to what I truly know a lot about....candles. I've made candles in the past which was sucessful but I never turned it into a business, I just made for friends and family and gave them as gifts. I've dabbled in a few different Direct Sales candle businesses, most of which I'm considering again but this time actually building a business not just doing it for a hobby. I'm still very undecided on which route to take, and this blog is going to document all of my thoughts and decisions about making that choice. I'm going to outline each company I'm looking into and all of my pros and cons about each one and also the pros and cons about making my own candles and turning that into a business.
I hope you'll follow along my journey and at the end of it all I hope I can help someone else who is also trying to make a similar decision :)
